Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Books Released, Reflecting Development Vision
Assam: Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya unveiled two significant books authored by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on December 19 in Guwahati. Titled Diary (Part 3) and Collection of Speeches (Part 3), the books provide insights into the state government’s development trajectory and milestones over the past year.
Speaking at the event, Governor Acharya lauded the chief minister’s efforts, emphasizing that politicians rarely find time to write. “The chief minister’s diary is indeed commendable and serves as an inspiration, especially for the younger generation,” he remarked.
Acharya also acknowledged Sarma’s role in advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Vikas (development) and Virasat (heritage)” in Assam, noting the state’s significant progress under his leadership.
Chief Minister Sarma highlighted that the books are not personal reflections but represent the broader vision and actions of the Assam government. He described the diary as a resource for future research, documenting key events such as the signing of the peace agreement with pro-talk ULFA and the delimitation exercise.
Sarma also emphasized the importance of capturing contributions from various communities and individuals towards Assam’s cultural, social, and economic development.
Addressing challenges such as insurgency, flood issues, and illegal influx, Sarma expressed his commitment to building a resilient and progressive Assam.
“We are transitioning from an era of negativity to an era of semiconductors and innovation,” he stated, underscoring his focus on the long-term development of the state for future generations.
The Collection of Speeches (Part 3) includes 70 addresses delivered by the chief minister over the past year. Sarma affirmed that the annual publication of his speeches since assuming office in 2021 aims to serve as a reference for understanding the state’s development narrative.
The event also saw the chief minister’s promise to continue working tirelessly toward creating a “Viksit Assam” and leaving behind a legacy of hope and progress for decades to come.
