Assam CM inaugurates Rs 42 crore Atal Uran Setu to ease congestion in Barpeta Road

Guwahati, 29th February: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to the microblogging site X on February 29 to announce the inauguration of the newly constructed Railway Over Bridge, named the Atal Uran Setu, in Barpeta Road. With a hefty price tag of Rs 42 crore, the bridge is set to alleviate congestion in Assam’s historic town, offering relief to commuters and enhancing connectivity in the region.

In addition to the Railway Over Bridge, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma dedicated a state-of-the-art Multi Utility Building in Sorbhog earlier in the day. Costing Rs 10 crore, this facility represents a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to stimulate economic growth and entrepreneurship in the area.

The inauguration ceremony, graced by esteemed Cabinet Ministers Shri Ranjeet Kumar Dass and Ranoj Pegu, underscored the government’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to business development and job creation. The Multi Utility Building is poised to emerge as a dynamic center for diverse enterprises, offering ample opportunities for local businesses to flourish and contribute to the socio-economic landscape of Sorbhog and its surroundings.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the pivotal role of strategic infrastructure projects in driving growth and development across the state.
