Assam CM Initiates Construction of Rs 374 Crore Flyover at Cycle Factory Junction
Guwahati, 1st February: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone for a new three-lane flyover at the Cycle Factory Junction over Guwahati-Garbhanga Road.
The state government announced the project after a recent cabinet meeting, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion for commuters from Lokhra, Sarusajai, ISBT, Betkuchi, Garchuk, Jalukbari, Lal Ganesh, and Odalbakra.
Addressing the gathering, CM Sarma revealed that the 2.84 km flyover, stretching from Cycle Factory Junction to Lal Ganesh, is expected to be completed in less than three years with a total expenditure of Rs 374 crores.
The construction is anticipated to reduce traffic congestion during events at Barsapara Stadium and complement the nearing completion of the medical college near Arya College.
Additionally, CM Sarma shared updates on the expenditure for burial sites and kabarsthans in Guwahati and announced the partial opening of the Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge to the public on February 28.
