Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ordered the renaming of the Kalapahar area in Guwahati on Monday.
West Guwahati MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita said that they will bring the issue up for debate with the community soon.
While addressing to media, Kalita said, “The name will be altered in response to public feedback. “We will address the problem with the public soon, and the name will be modified based on the people’s suggestions.”
He further added that the new name would be revealed following the public meeting.
