Assam CM Launches Fiery Campaign, Slams Congress’s Vote Bank Politics
Guwahati, 23rd April: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took his campaign to Samaguri under the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency as part of the ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’ for the upcoming elections, where he launched a blistering attack on the Congress party.
Accusing Congress of resorting to vote bank politics to secure votes, Sarma asserted, “Congress is brazenly indulging in vote bank politics to win this constituency but such tricks won’t work this time.” He highlighted Congress’s alleged attempts to stoke fear among the Muslim community regarding their religious practices under a BJP-led government.
In a direct challenge to Congress’s narrative, Sarma questioned the audience, “Is anyone facing any issue in ‘namaz ada’? Is there anyone who has faced issues to celebrate Eid? Is there someone who has been troubled while ‘Roja’?” Asserting the BJP’s commitment to inclusive governance, Sarma declared, “Congress Go BACK.”
Highlighting BJP’s stance on corruption, Sarma contrasted it with the alleged practices during Congress’s tenure. He claimed, “During the Congress regime anyone who needed a job, was asked to bride with money but during the reign of BJP nobody needs to give money to get a job.”
Sarma also underscored BJP’s welfare initiatives like Orunodoi, vowing to extend its benefits to all households regardless of religious affiliation. He assured, “I will give Orunodoi to everyone’s home. Congress can’t give you that but only the BJP.”
The CM’s impassioned remarks resonated with the crowd, underscoring the political fervor and competitive spirit as the elections draw closer.
