Assam CM Launches Scheme to Empower Research Scholars
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched the Mukhya Mantrir Jiban Anuprerana scheme, aimed at empowering research scholars in the state. The scheme provides one-time financial assistance to research scholars, with a focus on divyang scholars, to promote research and development in Assam.
Under the scheme, full-time research scholars will receive Rs 25,000, while Divyang research scholars will receive Rs 40,000. The scheme is open to permanent residents of Assam studying in public institutions, including state and central universities.
The Chief Minister also launched the Swagata Satirtha Portal, which simplifies the transfer process for government employees, making it more transparent and time-bound. Over 9,004 Grade III and IV employees have benefited from the portal, which allows for mutual transfers with ease.
Speaking at the launch event, Chief Minister Sarma said that the schemes marked a significant milestone for Assam, demonstrating the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and employee welfare. He highlighted the government’s efforts to bring transparency in government services, including the mutual transfer system and appointment processes.
The Chief Minister also discussed other initiatives, such as the Apun Ghar housing loan scheme, which provides Rs 15 lakh to government employees, with plans to increase it to Rs 30 lakh. He also mentioned the Nijut Moina scheme, which provides monthly stipends to students, and the Mukhya Mantri Lok Sevak Arogya Yojana, which offers healthcare benefits.
The Mukhya Mantrir Jiban Anuprerana scheme is expected to empower students to carry out research and development work without financial constraints, enabling them to complete their research and gain employment in educational institutions.
