Assam CM Orders Probe Into Dead Of One-Horned Rhino In Golaghat

Guwahati: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday asked the Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh in Golaghat district to enquire about a tragic incident in Assam’s Kaziranga matter relate to the dead of a one-horned rhino.

Highlighting awareness, MLA of the area Mrinal Saikia’s tweet wherein, the MLA prefer charge against crowd and administration of neglect in saving the pride of Assam, the Assam said, “Will enquire the matter”.

”The stray #rhino is most probably dead and I hold the insensitive crowd and Golaghat Administration solely responsible for it. Forest Officials tried to save it from public atrocities but @GolaghatPolice did not cooperate. I demand punitive action

According to the report, the Rhino was roaming for last five days in the area.

Few days earlier, at least two people were seriously injured after a one-horned rhino attacked them in Golaghat district of Assam.

The rhino accuse people in the Mohima village in the Golaghat district of Assam after which the locals directly informed the forest official about the matter.

However, as the forest officers reach the location and tired to control the rhino, Divisional forest officer Sushil Kumar Thakuria and another officer were also injured.

Moreover, official were taken to the hospital for medical care.

In a similar incident, a one-horned rhino killed a 75-years-old in a paddy field in Golaghat district of Assam.
