Assam CM Prioritizes Road Repairs in Guwahati Ahead of Durga Puja
Guwahati, September 23: Ahead of the Durga Puja festival, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has pledged to expedite the development and repair of roads in Guwahati to ensure smooth movement for devotees.
In a post on X, CM Sarma stated, “We are prioritizing development and public convenience. Roads are being repaired at a brisk pace to facilitate movement during the upcoming Durga Puja festivities.”
Sashanka Chakraborty, Assam BJP’s social media co-incharge, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the rapid progress made in the last 24 hours. He shared updates on road repairs, including visuals from the Colony Bazar road (Lalganesh-Cycle Factory route).
On September 8, CM Sarma inspected the ongoing work on the Dighalipukhuri-Noonmati flyover, announcing that the Noonmati-Chandmari stretch is set to open by March 2025, with completion of the remaining sections anticipated by 2026. He assured that roads surrounding the construction site will be cleared for the festival to ensure a free flow of traffic.
