Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday met with the families whose homes were reduced to ashes in the massive fire in Pandu of Guwahati.
After assessing the situation in Pandu, CM Sarma announced that 15 families who were affected by the terrible tragedy will receive cash support as well as supplies of basic necessities.
The chief minister announced a compensation of Rs 10,000 for each family. Additionally, he gave the families food and other necessities.
It should be noted that a massive fire that started in a residential area on Thursday morning destroyed at least eight homes in Pandu.
According to reports, four cylinders allegedly exploded as a result of the fire. Fortunately, there were no casualties or reported injuries.
Properties worth lakhs were destroyed in the massive fire.
