Assam CM reviews flood situation in each districts; directs DCs to strictly deal with the worsening flood scenario

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the flood situation and disaster preparedness on Monday during a video conference meeting with the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of each district in the state and the Sub-Divisional Officers (SDO).

Sarma evaluated the preparations made by the different DCs of each district to deal with the worsening flood scenario at the meeting. He expressed his outrage at some of the DCs’ work.

He warned numerous DCs and told them to concentrate on their jobs. Senior health department personnel were requested by the chief minister to attend the relief camps and assist the victims as needed.

Meanwhile, Sarma also gave the DCs the order to establish medical clinics in each relief camp.

Over 31 lakh people of 32 districts – Bajali, Baksa, Barpeta, Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Cachar, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Dima Hasao, Goalpara, Hojai, Kamrup, Kamrup (Metro), Karbi Anglong West, Karimganj, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Morigaon, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, Sivasagar, South Salmara, Tamulpur, Tinsukia, Udalguri, have affected in the second wave of the deluge.
