Assam CM Reviews Key Welfare Schemes in Video Conference with District Commissioners

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a crucial video conference with District Commissioners from across the state at Lok Sewa Bhawan, assessing the progress of major welfare and economic empowerment initiatives aimed at boosting Assam’s socio-economic landscape.

The meeting focused on flagship programmes like Orunodoi 3.0, the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, and the Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan, with CM Sarma emphasising the need for efficiency, inclusivity, and grassroots impact in their execution.

A key decision from the meeting was the directive to Co-District Commissioners to oversee the implementation of Orunodoi 3.0, ensuring greater reach and effectiveness of the scheme at the local level.

Additionally, the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan and the Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan were reviewed, highlighting their role in entrepreneurship and economic self-sufficiency, particularly for women.

Beyond governance and welfare, the meeting also discussed Assam’s upcoming mass Jhumur dance performance on February 24 at Sarusajai Stadium, which aims to set a world record while commemorating 200 years of Assam Tea.

The CM directed live-streaming of the event in tea gardens, allowing remote communities to participate in the cultural celebration.

The high-level meeting was attended by several ministers and senior officials, including Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Health Minister Ashok Singhal, Finance Minister Ajanta Neog, and Chief Secretary Dr Ravi Kota, among others.
