Assam CM Sarma Alleges Irregularities in Jharkhand’s Madarsas, Criticizes Soren’s Leadership Ahead of Elections

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made pointed allegations against Jharkhand’s educational institutions, claiming that certain madarsas are involved in activities such as providing unauthorized training and facilitating Aadhar card access for intruders.

Sarma cited what he referred to as an “internal letter” from the Jharkhand government in support of his claims. He made these statements in the context of the upcoming elections, expressing confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) prospects in the Santhal Pargana region, where he vowed the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) if the BJP wins.

Further, Sarma demanded the removal of Jharkhand Minister Irfan Ansari from office, urging Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to take action, although he did not specify the details of his demands related to Ansari. His critique intensified as he condemned the Jharkhand government’s handling of recent controversies involving Ansari, who made inflammatory remarks regarding Sita Soren, the sister-in-law of the Chief Minister.

“Our party condemns the language used by Irfan Ansari against Sita Soren,” Sarma stated, while also chastising CM Hemant Soren for his silence on the issue. “The daughter-in-law of Shibhu Soren has been insulted, yet Hemant Soren remains silent,” he remarked, adding that he believed the tribal community would not forget the incident in the upcoming elections.

Sarma’s statements highlight growing tensions between BJP and the current Jharkhand leadership as both parties prepare for a close electoral contest.
