Assam CM Sarma Asks Officials To Ensure Smooth Conduct Of Grade III-IV Exams

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma convened a virtual meeting at his Janata Bhawan office with the deputy commissioners (DCs) and other stakeholders on Wednesday to ensure the smooth operation of the examinations for Grade III and Grade IV posts for various departments under the state government.

The chief minister instructed the DCs to closely follow the Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) in order to maintain a flawless system for hiring qualified young people for various government positions.

He advised the DCs to watch out for any complacency that would jeopardise the integrity of the test.

Additionally, CM Sarma requested that the DCs and SPs be prepared with their personnel and equipment to deter dishonest individuals from interfering with the examination process.

One nodal officer will serve as the examination location in each of the 25 districts. Additionally, each test centre will have government gazetted officers working as observers to make sure the SOPs are carried out correctly and satisfactorily.

Each testing location will have a police officer assigned at the sub-inspector level, who will be supported by other police officers.

Mobile phones and other electronic devices will not be permitted within the testing facilities by either the candidates or the invigilators.

The centre-in-charge in each examination centre will engage two videographers to video graph all relevant happenings in the examination centres.

No candidate will be permitted to re-enter the testing facility following the conclusion of that shift’s exam.

The same candidate will only be permitted to enter at the appointed time and following a thorough frisking, though.

The examinations will be held on August 21, 28 and September 11 and on the days of the examination mobile internet for three hours will be kept suspended.

Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Special DGP GP Singh, Chairman, State level Recruitment Commission for Class III posts Asish Kumar Bhutani, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Samir Kumar Sinha, Principal Secretary to Home and Political Niraj Verma and other senior officers of civil and police administration were present during the virtual meeting.
