Assam CM Sarma Confident of BJP’s Mega Victory in Lok Sabha Elections
Guwahati, 16th May: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed strong confidence in the BJP’s chances of achieving a significant victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Speaking at a press conference in Jharkhand, Sarma emphasized the necessity of securing over 400 seats to achieve several key objectives.
Highlighting the constitutional duty to fully integrate Jammu and Kashmir into India, Sarma stressed the importance of obtaining a substantial parliamentary majority to effectively accomplish this goal. He underscored the need for the BJP to assert ownership over the region and fulfill this critical responsibility.
Sarma also emphasized the party’s commitment to implementing a Uniform Civil Code nationwide, which would establish consistent laws for all citizens regardless of religious affiliation. Achieving this ambitious reform, he noted, requires surpassing the 400-seat mark in the Lok Sabha.
Moreover, Sarma outlined the BJP’s vision for economic supremacy, aiming to surpass the economies of the United States and China by 2047. Realizing such ambitious economic goals, he argued, necessitates a robust parliamentary majority to implement essential policies and reforms.
Sarma further stressed the importance of strengthening key institutions like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Recognizing their critical roles in upholding law and order and combating corruption, he advocated for a stronger parliamentary mandate to empower these agencies effectively.
Looking ahead, Sarma expressed optimism about the BJP’s electoral prospects in Jharkhand, predicting a significant victory and the establishment of a “double engine government” in the state. This vision entails BJP leadership at both the central and state levels, promising coordinated efforts to drive development and prosperity in Jharkhand.
