Assam CM Sarma Distributes Appointment Letters to 325 Candidates
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma handed over employment letters at Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati on Saturday.
The appointment letters were distributed to as many as 325 candidates in irrigation.
CM Sarma announced after congratulating the applicants, “We have been able to recruit 325 persons in irrigation.”
Engineers from most agencies have so far been hired, with the exception of Public Works Department.
He said, “A law will be brought in the Assembly in which recruitment will be based on this Act and appointments will be made on lottery basis.”
Engineers will be moved between departments.
“Unemployed people have lived in darkness for twenty years, leaving Assam administration far behind. Although there have been improvements in the employment sector since last year, they are still in their infancy,” he said.
“We are lagging behind because of compromises in the last two decades,” he added.
