Assam CM Sarma extends greetings on Armed Forces Flag Day
Guwahati, 7th December: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma conveyed warm wishes to the brave members of the Indian Armed Forces on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day.
“वीर जवान अमर रहे The Veer Yoddhas and Veer Naris of the country have made the supreme sacrifice in the service of Maa Bharti over the years. Commemorating their indomitable courage and invaluable service, we pay tributes to the valiant personnel on #ArmedForcesFlagDay and stand in support of their kith and kin”, wrote CM Sarma on X.
Celebrated annually on December 7, Armed Forces Day has its historical origins on August 28, 1949, when the Ministry of Defence designated it as a day for remembrance and fundraising.
This initiative encourages citizens to participate by purchasing badges and stickers, with the funds raised aimed at enhancing the well-being of our armed forces personnel.
