Assam CM Sarma Inaugurates New ‘Lok Sewa Bhawan’ at State Secretariat
Guwahati, 27th October: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma marked the inauguration of a new block, known as the ‘I’ block, at the Assam Secretariat located in Guwahati’s Dispur.
This new ‘I’ block has been dedicated to providing services to the people of Assam and will serve as the operational base for both the Chief Minister’s office and the Chief Secretary’s office. To emphasize its focus on serving the public, the block has been named ‘Lok Sewa Bhawan,’ which translates to ‘People’s Service Building.’
During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Sarma expressed his vision for the Assam Secretariat, which includes the ongoing construction of another block that is expected to be completed in a few months. He aims to transform the Assam Secretariat over the next 5-10 years. Sarma emphasized that the Assam Secretariat plays a vital role in addressing the welfare concerns of the people of Assam.
He also expressed his hope that this new office space would not only enhance administrative efficiency but also streamline official procedures for the benefit of the public. The ‘Lok Sewa Bhawan’ is intended to signify the government’s commitment to serving the citizens of Assam.
