Assam CM Slams Kharge’s Comments on PM Modi’s Father
National, 18th November: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has strongly criticized Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress national president, for his recent comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, particularly referencing PM Modi’s late father.
Speaking to ANI in Jaipur, Sarma labeled Kharge as a ‘rubber stamp,’ suggesting that he is being influenced to make such remarks.
Sarma condemned the tendency in politics to bring up late family members, stating that it is inappropriate.
He pointed out the Congress party’s history of discussing PM Modi’s parents, implying internal discussions within the Gandhi family or the Congress party might be influencing such comments.
Sarma noted that Kharge was not known for such behavior earlier, indicating that he is being directed to make such statements.
Kharge stirred controversy with his remarks about PM Modi’s father during a speech, where he also targeted Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Kharge referred to both leaders as “liars,” specifically stating that the Prime Minister is dishonest and suggested that even KCR lacks the funds to fulfill promises.
