It was previously criticised that the Shiv Sena and the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led BJP government in Assam were “dragging the Maharashtra political issue into the state at a time when it was devastated by floods.”
Eknath Shinde along with the Shiv Sena MLas had arrived in Guwahati on June 22 from Surat in Gujarat. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s request for a floor test to be held on Thursday has put the political turmoil in Maharashtra at a critical juncture.
