Guwahati, 29th September: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on September 29 that the state government is set to disburse the first tranche of ₹75,000 in financial aid to over 25,000 young entrepreneurs under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA). The distribution ceremony will take place on September 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Veterinary College Field in Khanapara, Guwahati.

The CMAAA initiative is designed to combat unemployment and encourage entrepreneurship among Assam’s youth. Speaking on the program, CM Sarma said, “We are committed to empowering our youth to become self-reliant by providing financial assistance, training, and market access.”

Eligible entrepreneurs are required to bring valid identification documents, such as PAN cards, Aadhaar cards, or other government-recognized photo IDs, to collect their drafts. The state government has earmarked a total subsidy grant of ₹510 crore for the initiative, supporting various sectors like agriculture, fisheries, and self-employment.

In addition to the ₹75,000 initial tranche, the scheme will also provide further financial assistance upon completion of a three-day training program specific to the entrepreneurs’ chosen industries.
