Assam CM to launch Oronodoi scheme today.

The Oronodoi scheme will be launched in 29 districts of Assam.  Assam’s biggest DBT scheme Oronudoi under which 22 lakhs poor families will get 830 Rs. each in the bank accounts as a medical and nutritional support every month.

Assam´s Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said under this scheme, priority will be given to the households with the widows, divorced, unmarried and disable persons. The minister said the govt. wants to add another 8 lakh beneficiary soon.

The Finance Minister also added, to avaid the benefits of the scheme, the beneficiary should be a permanent resident of Assam and her composite household income should be less than Rs. 2 lakh per annum. The beneficiaries will also get the December entitlement on 25th of next month. The scheme has a monthly financial implication of Rs. 200 crore for the state govt.
