Guwahati: Chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma declared that on April 13 all “Bihuwan-Bihuwati” will receive a surprise gift.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commented on the ongoing Bihu rehearsal in the Sarusajai stadium in Guwahati, saying, “Today I won’t say anything…On 13th April I will present a good gift for all the ‘Bihuwan-Bihuwati’.”
Moreover, CM Sarma added that he is keeping the surprise gift as surprise until the announcement. He also assured all the hard effort of the Bihu artists will be acknowledged.
Reacting to the CM’s announcement one of the performers said, “We are totally surprised… did not expect this from the chief minister and now we are all happy and excited about April 13.”
A total of 11,000 dancers are practicing day and night in order to bring Assam’s Bihu dance to the global stage and set a Guinness World Record on April 14.
