Assam CM Urges Punjab to Give PM Modi a Chance, Asserting Widespread Support Across India
Guwahati, 13th May: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has called upon the people of Punjab to consider giving Prime Minister Narendra Modi a chance, citing widespread support for the BJP leader across North, West, and now, East India. Speaking at a public meeting in Patiala, Punjab, Sarma emphasized Modi’s potential to provide effective leadership and spur development in the state.
Sarma highlighted the overwhelming electoral success of PM Modi in North and West India, stating that the mood in East India also favors the incumbent Prime Minister. He expressed optimism about the prospects of the BJP in Punjab, asserting that Modi’s candidature resonates positively with the electorate.
With Punjab set to hold Lok Sabha elections on June 1, 2024, Sarma underscored PM Modi’s capacity to lead the state towards progress, contrasting it with the perceived limitations of other political parties. He dismissed the AAP and Congress, along with their leaders Bhagwant Mann and Rahul Gandhi, as incapable of providing effective leadership to Punjab.
The Assam CM praised PM Modi’s emotional connection with Punjab, citing his recent visit to Gurdwara Patna Sahib in Bihar as evidence of his affinity towards the Sikh community. Sarma urged the people of Punjab to entrust PM Modi with their support, emphasizing his dedication to the state’s welfare and development.
Sarma’s remarks underscore the BJP’s concerted efforts to consolidate support in Punjab ahead of the upcoming elections, positioning PM Modi as a capable and empathetic leader capable of addressing the state’s needs and aspirations.
