Assam CM Vows Unwavering Backing for Women’s Aspirations on International Women’s Day
Guwahati: Marking International Women’s Day, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has publicly committed his administration’s full support to the advancement and empowerment of women throughout the state. His declaration emphasized the government’s role in facilitating the realization of women’s ambitions.
Through a post on his official X account, the chief minister extended his warmest greetings to the women of Assam. He lauded them as “strong, enterprising, and trailblazers,” recognizing their significant contributions to the state.
In his message, Sarma highlighted the equal footing of women in Assam, stating, “Assam’s women – strong, enterprising and trailblazers! In every sphere, our Nari Shakti is marching shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts to realise our dreams of a ‘Viksit Assam’ and we are empowering them in their pursuits.” This statement underscored the government’s dedication to fostering an environment where women can thrive alongside men.
