Assam CM’s Compassionate Gestures Earn Praise: Specially-Abled Citizens Receive Government Support
Guwahati, 22nd June: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s compassionate actions have earned him widespread admiration across the state. In a touching incident that recently went viral, Sarma was seen embracing Rajesh Chhetri, a specially-abled man from Tezpur, who expressed his concerns about not receiving benefits from government welfare schemes meant for the needy.
Moved by Chhetri’s plight, Sarma swiftly took action. He personally approved a proposal to provide Chhetri with Rs 1250 per month, which will be directly deposited into his bank account to support his needs.
This gesture is emblematic of Sarma’s proactive approach in addressing the grievances of the specially-abled community. Earlier, Sarma had also responded promptly to Rafiqul Islam from Bongaigaon district, who had expressed his desire for a government house for his parents. In a remarkable turnaround, Rafiqul Islam recently received the news that his request had been fulfilled, and he now has a government-provided home in Bongaigaon.
These instances highlight Sarma’s commitment to ensuring that every citizen, especially those in need, receives the support and assistance they deserve from the state government. His empathetic leadership continues to resonate deeply with the people of Assam.
