Assam CM’s Late Night Visit To Maligaon Under-Construction Flyover Site
Guwahati, 15 June: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma paid a late-night visit to the flyover that is being built in the Maligaon area of Guwahati on Wednesday to assess the situation.
Two people were injured on Tuesday when an iron shuttering slab that was underneath the flyover project that was under construction fell on them. A vehicle was also damage as a result.
This occurs only a few days after a video showing deadly sparks from continuing welding work at the flyover landing on cars passing underneath it on social media surfaced.
Inquiring about the health of the injured, CM Sarma also went to the hospital where they were undergoing treatment.
Speaking to reports, he said that the Maligaon flyover will be opened before the Durga Puja festival this year.
Chief minister also informed that vehicular movement in the construction site has been restricted at night due to ongoing construction works.
