Assam: College Student Killed in Road Accident Sparks Protests in Nalbari
Guwahati, 12th August: A tragic road accident in Nalbari, Assam, on August 12 claimed the life of Payal Debnath, a college student. Debnath was struck by a speeding dumper truck at Ganesh Mandir Chowk, resulting in her immediate death.
The incident caused widespread shock and anger among local residents and students. In response, protesters took to the streets, blocking the highway and setting tyres ablaze.
They demanded justice for the victim and called for enhanced road safety measures at the accident-prone location. The roadblock caused significant disruption in the area as the community expressed their grief and frustration.
