Assam completes 40 lakh COVID-19 tests
The Assam State Health Department has completed 40 lakh COVID-19 Tests. This was stated by Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma through a tweet. According to the Assam Health Minister, the First Laboratory to conduct COVID-19 Test in the State was set up on 7 February. The First Laboratory completed one lakh Tests in 114 days on 30 May. After 40 days, on 9 July the figure stood at 5 lakh. The figure of Ten Lakh COVID-19 Tests was reached after 25 days on 3 August. In a matter of just 9 days, that is on 12 August, Assam completed 15 lakh Tests. By 24 August the Health Department completed 20 lakh COVID-19 Tests.
By 7 September (14 days) the figure reached 25 lakh. In the Next 16 days, on 23 September Assam completed 30 lakh Tests. The figure of 35 lakh was reached on 30 September. Thirteen day later on 13 October the Assam State Health Department completed 40 lakh Tests. This stupendous feat by the Assam Health Department was lauded by everyone and State Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked everyone and stated that the Fight against COVID-19 will continue with the same dedication and enthusiasm.
For the Past Three days the COVID-19 infection rate is within one per cent in Assam. The mortality rate stands at 0.04 per cent. At present, Assam’s Total Positive Tally stands at 1,98,213 and the death toll mounted to 834. On the other hand, 84.28% of the positive Patients Registered in Assam so far have recovered from the disease. Assam currently has a Total of 30,320 active cases, which is 15.29% of the Total cases.
