Assam: Concrete Bridge Project Inaugurated in Salbari, Boosting BTR’s Connectivity Drive
Guwahati: A new stride in regional infrastructure development was taken with the formal inauguration of a concrete bridge project at Ghoramara in Salbari, located within the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Salbari constituency Councillor Jay Musahary, marking a long-awaited response to persistent connectivity issues in the area.
Sanctioned with an estimated budget of Rs 41.5 lakh, the bridge project promises to significantly improve transport accessibility for residents. Once completed, the structure is expected to streamline movement, reduce travel hardships, and enhance day-to-day life for the local population—many of whom have faced years of difficulty crossing the region’s waterways during seasonal changes.
Speaking at the event, Councillor Musahary conveyed heartfelt thanks to BTR Chief Pramod Boro for his continued support in advancing long-pending public demands. He expressed confidence that the project would not only address infrastructure gaps but also reflect the BTR administration’s growing focus on grassroots development.
Locals welcomed the project with enthusiasm, describing it as a sign of responsive governance that prioritizes real needs on the ground. Residents lauded the timely intervention, seeing the bridge as a catalyst for wider development in Salbari and surrounding villages.
Looking ahead, Musahary revealed plans for the construction of eight more concrete bridges in the constituency before the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections. The announcement underscores a renewed commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure and improving connectivity across the region—positioning Salbari as a key beneficiary of the BTR’s evolving development agenda.
