Assam: Congress Booth Camp in Morigaon Vandalized Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2024
Guwahati, 18th April: Unidentified miscreants reportedly vandalized a Congress booth camp in Morigaon as the Assam Lok Sabha elections 2024 approach, adding to the pre-poll violence in the region.
The incident occurred in the Morigaon Jagiroad area, raising concerns about the security situation in the lead-up to the elections.
The Baghjap Mandal Congress election campaign office was targeted during the night, with party banners and posters torn down.
Among the destroyed materials was a banner featuring the Congress party candidate, Pradyut Bordoloi, further highlighting the targeted nature of the vandalism.
The incident has elicited strong reactions, with Congress election campaign committee chairman, Bir Kumar Konwar, being present at the scene to assess the damage.
Allegations have surfaced suggesting that this act of vandalism is a desperate move by the opposition, who are purportedly apprehensive of the growing support for the Congress.
