Assam Congress Gears Up for Lok Sabha Polls with 38-Member Election Committee
Guwahati, 7th January: In anticipation of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Congress in Assam has established an election committee comprising 38 members.
The All-India Congress Committee unveiled the list, designating Bhupen Borah, the president of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), as the committee’s chairman.
Simultaneously, Debabarata Saikia, the leader of the opposition and CLP leader, has been appointed as the vice-chairman.
Among the distinguished members are Gaurav Gogoi, Rakibul Hussain, Pradyut Bordoloi, Abdul Khaleque, Rana Goswami, Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, and Pawan Singh Ghatowar.
The comprehensive list includes key figures strategically chosen to contribute to the committee’s objectives.
The 38 members of the election committee, led by Bhupen Kumar Borah as Chairman and Debabrata Saikia as Vice Chairman, represent a spectrum of leaders from Assam Congress.
Their collective expertise aims to formulate effective strategies for the upcoming electoral challenges.
The ex-officio members of the committee encompass leaders from various segments, including the State President Mahila Congress, the State President Seva Dal, the State President Youth Congress, and the State President NSUI. This diverse representation emphasizes the party’s commitment to inclusive and comprehensive decision-making processes as they gear up for the Lok Sabha polls.
