Assam Congress Leaders Trade Punches, Receive Show Cause Notices for Party Misconduct

Guwahati, 20th December: Two members of Congress have received ‘show cause’ notices after a physical altercation over a personal dispute inside Rajiv Bhawan. Chayanika Konch and Jiban Kuli were involved in the incident, leading to commotion. The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president, Bhupen Kumar Borah, expressed displeasure at their behavior, citing a violation of party discipline.

Concerned about negative media coverage, Borah issued ‘show cause’ notices, directing the members to submit explanatory replies within three days. The notices seek justification for not taking disciplinary action against them, emphasizing the need for accountability within the party.
