Guwahati, 14th February: Congress MLA Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha announced his resignation from the post of Working President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee on February 14. In a letter addressed to APCC President Bhupen Borah, he stated his decision to continue working solely as a primary member of the Congress party.
“I do hereby resign from the post of Working President, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect and continue the work only as a Primary member Of the Congress party,” stated Kamalakhya Dey in his letter to APCC President Bhupen Borah.
Earlier in the day, Congress MLAs Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha and Basanta Das met and felicitated Assam CM. Both MLAs have extended their support to the BJP in the Assam Legislative Assembly.
