Assam: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi Meets Veteran Leader Brindaban Goswami, Faces Mixed Reactions During Samaguri Campaign
Guwahati: In a recent meeting with former state minister Brindaban Goswami in Assam, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi stressed the importance of respecting the diverse ideologies present in Assam’s political landscape. Despite political differences, Gogoi acknowledged the value of varied perspectives, emphasizing that disagreements are a natural aspect of politics.
During their discussion, Gogoi expressed his admiration for senior political figures and their contributions to the state’s development. He highlighted his desire to learn from seasoned leaders like Goswami, acknowledging the wisdom they have gained from years of experience in Assam’s political scene.
Earlier in the day, Gogoi campaigned in the Samaguri Legislative Assembly Constituency alongside Tanzil Hussain, son of Congress MP Rakibul Hussain, ahead of the upcoming by-elections. The event saw Gogoi and Tanzil leading a rally, positioning Tanzil as a key contender for the November 13 polls, which could make him the youngest MLA in Assam.
However, the campaign wasn’t without challenges. A section of villagers expressed their dissatisfaction by chanting “Go Back” at Gogoi during the rally, underscoring the mixed reactions politicians often encounter during election campaigns. Despite the resistance, the rally continued with the Congress party mobilizing support for their candidate.
