Assam: Congress’ Mukta Devi Mondal Clinches Mowamari Panchayat election Seat with Massive Victory Margin

Darrang, Assam — In a dramatic political development, Mukta Devi Mondal of the Congress party has secured a sweeping victory in the Mowamari Panchayat election in Darrang district.

Mondal defeated AGP-BJP candidate Moni Das by a massive margin of 15,280 votes, triggering widespread celebrations among Congress supporters.
 
Mondal garnered 23,388 votes, while her opponent Moni Das managed 8,085. The result marks a significant win for the Congress in the region.
 
However, the victory comes amid personal and political challenges for the newly elected leader. A minor altercation with BJP members on the day of the election led to tensions in the district.

Adding to the emotional weight of the moment, Mondal’s husband has been in Mangaldoi’s police custody for the past three days.
