Assam: Congress Prepares for BTC Elections, Aims to Contest All 40 Seats Independently

Assam: The Congress party is gearing up for the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections with a strategic focus on contesting all 40 constituencies independently.

On January 9, National Congress Secretary Prithviraj Sathe chaired a crucial review meeting at the Kokrajhar District Congress Office, Ranendra Bhavan. The meeting outlined the party’s roadmap for the elections, aiming to bolster its presence in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

Speaking at the meeting, Sathe affirmed the party’s decision to avoid alliances with other political entities. “The Congress will build a strong organizational framework to ensure a solid electoral performance,” he said.

Sathe also highlighted growing public dissatisfaction with the current administration in the BTR, citing unfulfilled promises and lagging development schemes as key issues. The party plans to leverage this sentiment to connect with voters and secure a stronghold in the region.

This move marks the Congress’s renewed effort to re-establish its influence in the BTR, as it prepares for a high-stakes electoral battle.
