Assam cop’s shameful act. Young Woman Rescued from Police Officer’s Premises
Guwahati, 24th December: In a troubling incident that has cast a shadow over the image of Assam Police, Officer-in-Charge Noor Jahangir Ahmed of Chungajan in Assam’s Golaghat is facing serious allegations.
A young woman was reportedly rescued from the official premises of Officer Ahmed on Saturday night, sparking a heated situation in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, locals had observed several young women frequenting Officer Ahmed’s room in recent days. The situation escalated when, on Saturday night, a young woman was found inside the government room. Later, in the presence of the Dhansiri Sub-Divisional Police Officer, the girl was rescued.
While Officer Ahmed remains locked inside his room, Assam Police has not issued any official statement on the matter.
An FIR has been lodged against Officer Ahmed, and the incident has reignited concerns about the safety of women in the region.
This is not the first time Officer Jahangir Ahmed has faced legal trouble related to women. A previous case resulted in his suspension from service.
Local residents and various organisations are now demanding a thorough investigation into the recent incident, urging the Assam Police and Director General of Police G. P. Singh to ensure justice is served.
