Guwahati: A prisoner who tested positive for COVID-19 and currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nagaon district of Assam has escaped from custody on Sunday.
The prisoner has been identified as Nekibur Rahman.
The prisoner was admitted to the COVID-19 ward in a hospital after tested positive as he was kept under police observation. But somehow in between the treatment the prisoner successfully fled from hospital.
It may be mentioned that Rahman was arrested by Haibargaon police in connection with a drugs case.
