Assam: Cow Head Found Near Temple in Dhubri, Tensions Flare
A wave of tension swept through the Jhagrarpar area of Dhubri district after a severed cow head was discovered near the Khalilpur Ambagan Sarvajanik Maa Durga Temple. The disturbing incident has ignited widespread protests, with both Hindu and Muslim communities united in their condemnation of the act.
Angry protesters, who blocked roads and staged demonstrations, accused unidentified individuals of attempting to sow seeds of discord between the two communities. “This is a clear attempt to disturb the peace and harmony that has prevailed in our area for decades,” stated a local resident.
The incident has fueled speculation about a possible link to the recent beef ban imposed by the Assam government. Many believe that the act was carried out with the intention of inciting communal violence and undermining the state’s social fabric.
Local police, led by Additional SP Dipjyoti Talukdar, swiftly arrived at the scene and removed the cow head. An investigation has been launched to identify and apprehend the culprits. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with the police.
Community leaders from both Hindu and Muslim communities have appealed for peace and harmony. “We must not allow such divisive acts to disrupt the peaceful coexistence that has been our hallmark,” said a prominent community leader.
