Assam: Customs Department Establishes Central Control Room in Guwahati Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

Guwahati, 24th March: In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the customs department has inaugurated a ‘Central Control Room’ (CCR) in Guwahati to combat illegal and prohibited activities, announced a senior official on Sunday.

The CCR, operational with immediate effect, will be spearheaded by Customs Superintendent Sanjit Das, who will serve as the nodal officer, supported by two additional members.

The establishment of this unit follows directives from the Commissioner of Customs (Preventive) for North East, reflecting the department’s proactive approach to ensuring the integrity and security of the electoral process.
