Assam: Daylight Snatching Takes Place in Guwahati, Caught On Camera

Guwahati, 6th October: Two miscreants snatched a man’s gold chain in broad daylight in the Kumarpara locality of Guwahati, on October 6. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera, where two individuals on a motorcycle approached a resident within his housing complex under the pretense of asking for directions.

It’s worth noting that chain snatching occurrences have been on the rise in Guwahati city. Just last month, in September, two chain snatching cases were documented in quick succession.

In the first incident, two individuals on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain from a woman near Rajdhani Masjid on Devadaru Path in Hatigaon, Guwahati. The victim, Uma Aiyar, had gone to a nearby market when the culprits struck and took her gold chain. Following the incident, a formal complaint was lodged at the Dispur Police Station.

Another similar chain snatching incident occurred in the Ganeshguri area of Guwahati, specifically in the Narayanpur locality. The victim in this case was identified as Putoli Deka.

Furthermore, an additional chain snatching incident was reported from the Beltola area, where a woman was targeted while she was out for her morning walk.
