Guwahati: A 27-year-old youth has been found dead in Cachar district of Assam on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Rajen Das who is the resident of the district.
According to reports, the body was recovered by locals this morning near a rail track at Burunga village in under Kalain tehsil of the district.
Reportedly, the locals spotted the body and informed the police officials. On getting information, the officials arrived at the spot and recovered the body.
As per locals, it is suspected that some miscreants allegedly murdered the victim and left the body there.
It may be mentioned that the body has been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for post mortem reports and further investigation into the matter is underway.
