Assam: Decomposed Tiger Carcass Recovered In Orang National Park
Guwahati: A decomposed body of a Royal Bengal tiger was recovered near Orang National Park in Sonitpur district of Assam.
According to reports, the tiger’s carcass was buried near the national park’s boundaries.
Upon receiving information, forest official reached to the spot and dug out the carcass.
The park is notable for having one of the highest populations of Royal Bengal tigers in the country.
A forest officer informed that someone had allegedly murdered the tiger in retaliation and buried the body.
He further added that the man responsible has reportedly fled away along with his family, he added.
According to protocol, the tiger’s carcass was burned in the presence of police and district officials, he added.
