Assam: Dhubri District Celebrates Academic Excellence with Distribution of Scooties, Bicycles, and Awards

Assam: The District Administration of Dhubri hosted a grand ceremonial event on Wednesday, December 18, at the Raja Prabhat Chandra Barua Field, recognizing the academic achievements of 1,197 students.

The event marked the distribution of scooties, bicycles, and the esteemed Anundoram Borooah Award, aimed at empowering students and encouraging academic excellence in the region.

The ceremony was graced by Atul Bora, Assam’s Minister of Agriculture, Excise, Border Protection and Development, Horticulture, and Implementation of the Assam Accord, who served as the Chief Guest. Distinguished attendees included Dibakar Nath, District Commissioner of Dhubri; Dr. Debamoy Sanyal, Chairman of the Dhubri Municipal Board; Ashwini Roy, former MLA of Golakganj; Prasenjit Dutta, District President of BJP Dhubri; and Bimal Chand Oswal, Commissioner of the Assam State Commission for Right to Public Services, among others.

During the event, a total of 224 boys and 973 girls were honored, with the strong participation of female students reflecting the district’s emphasis on promoting gender equity in education. Scooties and bicycles were distributed to help students overcome mobility challenges, enabling better access to educational opportunities.

The prestigious Anundoram Borooah Award was presented to the district’s highest-achieving students, further encouraging academic ambition. In his address, Minister Atul Bora commended the students for their hard work and dedication. He highlighted the Assam government’s unwavering commitment to supporting education and empowering the youth, emphasizing that such initiatives play a vital role in shaping the state’s future.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks to the dignitaries, students, and stakeholders whose efforts ensured the event’s success. The occasion celebrated not only the achievements of Dhubri’s students but also the collective drive to uplift education in Assam.
