Assam: Dhubri Medical College Gets approval NMC Nod For 100 MBBS Seats

Guwahati: A new medical college has been authorised in Dhubri district of Assam by the National Medical Commission (NMC) on Monday.

It is notable that this is the ninth such state in the North-eastern state.

A letter from the NCM states that launching the MBBS programme in the academic year 2022-23 with an annual intake of 100 students has received clearance.

As per reports, the letter was addressed to new college’s dean/principal. The Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB) looked over the assessor’s report and remarked on what the UG expert group had to say about infrastructure facilities, availability of faculty and other facilities

Taking to Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared, “Glad to share that the MBBS course of new Dhubri Medical College (9th medical college of Assam) under Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences with 100 seats has received the approval of Medical Assessment & Rating Board under the National Medical Commission.”

However, the approval was issued after the reviewers had also looked over explanations of the problems in a virtual format.
