Assam: Dhubri Police Recover Revolver and Ammunition in Late-Night Operation, Six Arrested
Dhubri, Assam – In a late-night operation on December 14, Dhubri police recovered a revolver and five live cartridges from a residence in Hardemara, Chapar.
Acting on a tip-off, the raid was conducted with support from police personnel of the Bilasipara Sub-Division, the Circle Police Officer of Chapar, and the Salkocha Police.
The operation, carried out at the home of Ayub Ali, led to the arrest of six individuals, including Ali himself. His wife, Khudeja Khatun, mother, Alima Begum, and three others identified as Tajnur Haque, Sanidul Islam, and Mojammil Haque were also detained.
Upon arrival at the residence, the police reportedly faced resistance from Ayub Ali and his family. The confrontation escalated into an attack on the officers, creating a volatile situation. The entire incident was captured on video, providing critical evidence for the ongoing investigation.
During the search, law enforcement officials discovered a revolver and live ammunition concealed in a pit inside the house.
All six individuals have been taken to the police station for questioning as authorities intensify efforts to combat illegal arms in the region. Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the seized weapon and ammunition, as police aim to dismantle networks involved in the proliferation of illegal arms in the area.
This operation underscores the commitment of Assam’s law enforcement to curbing the circulation of unauthorized firearms and ensuring public safety.
