Assam: Dhubri Police Thwart Cattle Smuggling Attempt
Guwahati, 15th May: In a proactive move against cattle smugglers, Dhubri police achieved a major breakthrough by seizing five cattle heads and one vehicle involved in transportation on Tuesday night. This significant accomplishment underscores the relentless efforts of law enforcement in combating illicit activities in the region.
The operation, spearheaded by officer in-charge Munna Pachani and the Dhubri Sadar police station team, unfolded in the Folimari region adjacent to Dhubri town. Despite the suspected cattle smuggler managing to evade capture, the retrieval of five cows and the apprehension of the vehicle mark a significant stride in disrupting such illegal endeavors.
Upon intercepting the vehicle, a Chevrolet OPTRA bearing registration number AS-16D-9534, police personnel diligently broke open the dickey to reveal the hidden cargo of five cows. The swift action prevented the illicit transportation of these animals, suspected to have been brought from West Bengal, and underscored the dedication of Dhubri police in upholding the law and safeguarding against unlawful activities.
The recovered cattle and vehicle have been securely brought to the Dhubri Sadar police station as part of ongoing investigations into the incident. This successful operation serves as a testament to the unwavering commitment of law enforcement authorities in ensuring the safety and security of the community.
