Assam: Dima Hasao Police Unveil Traffic Plan for Lok Sabha Election Counting Day in Haflong
Guwahati, 3rd June: In anticipation of the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha Election 2024 in Haflong, the district headquarters of Dima Hasao, the Dima Hasao Police have unveiled a comprehensive traffic plan slated for June 4 to facilitate the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
As part of the plan, several roads will be designated as ‘No Entry’ zones, including the stretch from Ambedkar Statue point to Phonglo Point and from Phonglo Point to Ambedkar Statue Point. Additionally, entry will be prohibited on the road from Lake View side to Rani Dishru Statue.
To streamline traffic flow, a one-way traffic system will be enforced on the Apollo Road leading to Phonglo Point.
Furthermore, designated parking areas have been identified at various locations including Lake View side road, Additional Court Building Road, the backside of the waiting shed in front of Don Bosco HS School, and the Council Field. However, parking will be strictly prohibited in the area spanning from the Police Reserve Gate to the District Library Rotary Point.
Specific instructions have been issued for vehicular movement. Vehicles approaching from the Ambedkar Statue side will be directed to take a left turn near The Deck Restaurant and proceed towards either the Lake side road or the Convent Road/Gurudwara Land. Similarly, vehicles from the Synod Point side towards Haflong Market area will be required to make a right turn at Phonglo Point and proceed via the Government Girls HS School road.
Officials stationed between Ambedkar Point and the District Police Reserve gate have been advised to park their vehicles at designated areas to ensure orderly parking arrangements.
The meticulously crafted traffic plan aims to facilitate the efficient movement of vehicles during the crucial Lok Sabha election counting process in Haflong, promoting safety and convenience for all stakeholders involved.
