Assam: Dimakuchi Police Rescue Rare Pangolin in Late-Night Operation
Guwahati, 25th May: In a remarkable late-night operation, the Dimakuchi police station’s patrolling team successfully rescued a rare pangolin along the Dimakuchi-Badlapara road. The team, led by Officer-in-Charge Mahananda Bhuyan, spotted the critically endangered pangolin weighing between three to four kilograms and ensured its safety.
The operation underscores the commitment of the Dimakuchi police to wildlife protection. “We acted swiftly to safeguard the endangered pangolin,” stated Officer-in-Charge Bhuyan, highlighting the importance of protecting the region’s vulnerable wildlife from harm.
Following the rescue, the police contacted authorities at the Barnadi Sanctuary to arrange the safe transfer of the pangolin. Plans are underway to transport the creature to the sanctuary, where it will be released under the supervision of forest officials, ensuring its continued protection and well-being.
This rescue operation is a significant step in the ongoing efforts to preserve endangered species and reflects the dedication of local law enforcement to environmental conservation.
