Assam Direct Recruitment: Principal of Cachar College Held for Violating Exam Protocols

Guwahati: Assam police apprehended the principal of Cachar College in Silchar for breaching the protocols during the direct recruitment examination on Sunday.

The arrested principal has been identified as Siddhartha Shankar Nath.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Cachar district, Rohan Kumar Jha, filed a FIR against Nath when he noticed egregious incompetence in the way the exams were handled at Cachar College.

As a result, Nath was later detained.

Reportedly, Nath has been asked to appear in person at the DC office for interrogation.

He is currently being questioned at the Silchar Police Station.

The State Level Recruitment Commission’s Class-IV Posts Written Examinations were held on Sunday and the exams were started from 10 am to 12 pm from 2 pm to 4 pm.

However, internet access was unavailable in the exam-area districts for four hours.
